Program Overview

The Department of Pennsylvania, Marine Corps League offers annual scholarships to eligible members, their families, and dependents of Marines killed in combat. The program supports undergraduate education at accredited institutions and requires annual reapplication.

Eligibility Requirements

Who May Apply

  • MCL or Auxiliary members
  • Spouses, children, and grandchildren of MCL/Auxiliary members
  • Children of U.S. Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Navy Chaplains killed in combat

Membership Requirement

  • Applicant or sponsor must be a member in good standing for one year prior to applying
  • Dues must be paid in full at time of application and disbursement
  • Waived if applicant's parent was a Marine, Corpsman, or Chaplain killed in combat

Academic Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED recipient
  • Accepted or enrolled at an accredited community college, university, or technical school
  • First-year applicants must provide a letter of acceptance
  • Graduate students are ineligible

Enrollment Requirements

  • Full-time enrollment required (minimum 12 credits/semester)
  • Exception: MCL member veterans may enroll part-time (minimum 6 credits/semester)
  • Eligibility limited to four undergraduate years or completion of a bachelor's degree, whichever comes first
  • Annual reapplication required for renewing students
